Legal Aid Reform Training

The Ministry of Justice committed to carrying out a review of legal aid in May 2010. In November 2010, the Government published its proposals for reform in the consultation paper: Proposals for the Reform of Legal Aid in England and Wales. The consultation set out proposals for a radical, wide ranging and ambitious programme of reform, aimed at ensuring legal aid is better targeted and delivers value for money to the taxpayer.

In taking forward the reform programme, as set out in this Government response.to consultation, the training modules aim to prepare providers for the impact of the reforms.

Business Development Training:

Builds on face-to-face training successfully delivered across the country in 2009. Although the training was in part developed to support the BVT Pilot, and focuses in some sections quite specifically in understanding the cost of services delivered, the broader principles are good management practice for all providers. Feedback from attendees has overwhelmingly been positive.
